The passage to Out Skerries by yacht also provides an ideal opportunity for spotting minke whale and harbour porpoise off the dramatic coastline of cliffs, arches, blow holes, stacks, voes and beaches.
Out Skerries has a small boat marina, pier and a fine anchorage in the natural harbour of Bod Voe. If you wish to tie up, visiting yachts should do so at the pier in the first instance, as the marina is only suitable for small craft.
The pier is covered with large tyres so fender boards are recommended.
There are two shops, the West Isle Shop, which has a post office (+44 (0)1806 515287), and on the east isle Alex Humphray & Co. (+44 (0)1806 515226).
