Care should be taken when approaching Burravoe, as there are strong tides and dangerous rocks in the approach and the entrance to the voe has a 2.5m bar. The approach is best made in daylight unless you have local knowledge.
Once inside, there are three mooring options: you can tie up at the pier or in the marina, or anchor in the excellent holding ground at the head of the voe. Do ensure you use a tripping line as old moorings mean it can be foul in places.
There are great facilities provided in a distinctive utility building, which has an old ship's lifeboat as a roof. Toilets, showers and laundry facilities are available with coin operated machines.
Water and electricity are available and diesel is available by arrangement.
The Old Haa' Museum is open May to September and has a fascinating exhibition. It is home to the archives of a noted local naturalist and photographer, the late Bobby Tulloch. It also serves a great cup of tea with fantastic home bakes.
